This rifle is “solid as a rock” built with quality materials and fashioned with old world workmanship. It yearns to be taken on the hunt and is certainly capable of delivering the quarry. This is not a target gun, it is a hunting gun. The cocking force is specified to be 46 lbs.; mine weighed-in at 50 lbs. The HW90 is a heavy air rifle weighing in at 9 lbs without a scope. This is not the gun I choose for a day of target shooting or plinking. This is the gun I choose for hiding or stalking, when it will be cocked for hours. My HW90 is pushing the .22 caliber, 18 grain pellet out of the barrel at 24 ft/lbs which results in a substantial recoil. This is not a fun gun, it is an excellent hunting gun and I can whole heartedly recommend the HW90 for this purpose.
