Weihrauch HW90 has Arrived

UPS brought my new HW 90 yesterday. I tried it out with iron sites only and did pretty well for an old blind guy.. I will put the scope on it today and see how it does with that. It really was not that difficult to cock. I had AoA set the pressure to 19 bar prior to shipping it to me. At that pressure it does quite well both in feet per second and in accuracy. I got it in 177 because I like that caliber for my break barrel rifles. It is really a quality made weapon and AoA did quite well in getting it to me in a timely manner . I am really looking forward to shooting this weapon. It fills a gap in my arsenal. It loves JSB 10.34 and chronies well with them as shown Target was 10 yds away because I sighting in the iron sights I will shoot a 30 yd group with scope today I will probably put a DFL on it using his 16mm adapter to tame the bark It is not really loud but is borderline urban friendly It is on the heavy side at 8 lbs but that has the positive affect of stabilizing the weapon during the piston cycle and thereby increasing accuracy My wife gave this to me as a combination Anniversary, Birthday, Valentine's gift She always has been a “keeper”.

Awesome. I also find that 19 bar gives me the best balance of power vs cocking effort. The text on the receiver says PF=20, which I assume means power factor is 20 foot lbs. 19 bar puts my HW90 at about 20.5 ft-lbs.

I run mine with a Primary Arms SLX MD20 micro red-dot, to keep weight down. It weighs only 3.9 ounces. I find that a red-dot is easier to use than iron sights, it doesn't obscure the field of view as much. It's also very rugged. I mount it with an 11mm to Picatinny adapter that has a little recoil stop screw. So far I'm not seeing any recoil caused shifting.

I have put about 700 pellets down it now and the weapon has settled down and all dieseling is gone It shoots nearly one hole groups with H&N Barracuda Match 4.52, 10.65 gr It also shoots the JSB 10.34s ok. It does noT like CPHP. I put a Leapers 3x9x40 True Hunter on it and have had no wandering POI issues. Scope is mounted on a Sportsmatch DAMPA and the combination seems to absorb the recoil. I have not chronied it now that it is broken in. i took the sights off and put a DFL 16mm adapter on the barrel end and protects the end of the barrel. For grins I put A koi on it to see if it tamed the bark. I measured the sound level with an iphone app and was surprised by the results. Sound Level at rhe rifle was

Naked. 105 Db

Koi. 103 Db

Shogun. 107 Db

Decided a moderator made no real difference. Maybe ten feet away would.

It was a little tight but fit. I had to tap it a couple of times with a rubber mallet. it probably will not come off that easy but I have no intention of taking it off because I do not use the iron sights. My 71 year old eyes just don’t focus that well on iron sites anymore. Lol. if you plan to use your iron sites at a later date, I would not put one on.

H&N Baracuda Match 10.65. 5.52 diameter. It loves these pellets and shoots them at near one hole groups at 20 yards from a bench set up Chrony was my FX.

That one low shot of 870 could have been a slightly flawed pellet. Your other 9 shots were pretty consistent and close to the 900-920 fps range I stated your rifle would wind up after it settled down.
