N/A Webley Longbow wood.

Look at the potential in this board.
I didn’t even realize it was walnut until after I won the auction. I just wanted a Longbow in 177. Looked again after the auction and noticed the pistol grip checkered. Then noticed a little fiddleback. Pictures were not real good.
Some rust on the barrel. A shroud will be added.
It’s gonna be gorgeous 😃
Can’t believe how rough the stock feels. Fortunately it’s in very nice shape. Will strip and refinish. Typical for walnut Webleys it seems.

Here's a customized Longbow by Jan Kraner. I believe that it's the original stock, but with some Kraner improvements. It's one of the most accurate, and definitely the smoothest springer that I've ever fired.
Notice the hand checkering and the little whoopsy near the forward end of the checkering pattern border line on the forend. A little "hand made" touch that I'm actually quite ok with. Just an example of a well finished Longbow stock.

That is a remarkable transformation, well done.

Thanks for sharing the process as well, it should serve as motivation.
You should see the next coat. Only took a few minutes. Satin but shimmers from within. A golden glow emanates from under the brown. The fiddleback figure plays "find me". Now here, now there. I’ll video the stock when finished. Best way to show the chatoyance.

Recommended to me by Griffin and Howe stock builder. Dan has taught me a thing or two.
