I just purchased a Weaver T-Series XR 36x40 scope but can't get it focused at 75 ft. The closest distance I can get it focused is about 100 ft. The Weaver specs state it will go down 50 ft. Is this a common defect?

I called Weaver this morning and apparently their literature on the XR scopes is incorrect. It will only focus down to 50 yds not 50 ft. It won't do me any good for 25 yd benchrest so back it goes.

Kudos to Weaver's customer service. They offered to replace my T-Series XR scope with a standard T-Series that apparently will focus down to 25 yds. I'll lose the side focus-parallax adjustment but everything else will apparently remain the same.
