Weather station for the range...

I've found that a small weather station is a convenient accessory for the shooting range.

I'm fortunate to have a shooting range in the backyard. Being retired, I shoot whenever the mood strikes me but when testing and tuning I prefer calm conditions.

Watching for a calm period required me to get up to check the wind flags. My wife (probably tired of me jumping up and down all the time) bought me a small weather station to save me running to the window every couple of minutes.

The unit works great, it's inexpensive, easy to install and convenient. I can see wind and temperature on the wi-fi connected display on my table.

Thought it might be something you would be interested in.

Cheers!

Nice, do you know how fast it responds to changes in wind speed?
The unit displays current wind speed (9 mph right now, the digital readout lags behind the graph by a couple of seconds) in real-time, highest speed over the last hour (14) and over the last 24 hours (20).

Temperatures and humidity are displayed. Units of measure are user configurable.

Cheers!

I can see one of my wind flags from my recliner. I find it difficult to see the direction, especially towards me versus going away on my wind flags. A weather station that shows direction would be of more interest to me.
Can understand the benefits of displaying wind direction.

In my case, because of the topography, if there's a wind it's usually swirling anyway. I have windicators every 5 yards for that reason.

I find any sort of wind that stays pretty constant to be a lot easier to deal with than wind that changes direction a lot. North to south is left to right for me. East to West pushes pellets down. Winds today did not exceed 8 mph according to the weather report but they were flipping around a lot pushing both directions for windage and elevation. But the more I shoot in the wind the better I get, slowly.
