weak cayden

got around to trying to iron this gun out, ive never had it into full use ... chrony said it was down on power and no amt of fudging with the spring etc made a difference, about 850ish is all it would do with 14.3s .. soo tore into it im like im gonna wollar those ports out till it breaths fire .. but yeah, it had 4 dead orings .. i had the tp barrel orings but the valve body ones, nope .. nothing anywhere in the pile .. so barring a scary encounter trying to order direct from crosman im gonna try the old fashioned way - measure um and hope you get it right lol .. got them figured at 20*16*2 .. meanwhile we got some drilling and buffing to do .. why .. thats all i want to know .. why dont they just give you a couple of full sets of orings, theyre what a few cents each lol ..

I agree. I love my Cayden and Kratos, but both of them had bad o rings from the start. Once replacing them, they are wonderful airguns. And you’ll need some spare O rings anyway as it’s super easy to slice one as you reassemble everything.

That’s a very short hammer spring, what does it measure? The stock spring is 3.5”. I cut my Cayden.22 spring to 2.8”. I now get 65+ shots with a 23fps spread using 15.89g. I get 48 shots with 18.13g (turning in the hammer spring in 4 turns to stay at 880-890fps). Your hammer spring looks shorter than 2.8”. I would try a longer spring before doing any drilling.

I don't have a solution to your problem but thanks for sharing the shot string, really good for a non regulated gun.

So pretty much anytime I see a header mentioning Cayden.... I check it out, as I expect many others do also. I own a Cayden, nice shooting rifle! still entirely factory stock internals as I choose not to tinker with something that's "not broken".
I've read and re-read dizzums post and there's no mention of whether this rifle was purchased new or used...? (inquiring minds want to know) another poster mentions the really short spring....? so is this rifle a tuning experiment gone awry of someone else?
