Previously, last week, I was pesting Starlings at 25-50 yds. Missed some but got some also. Today I decided to Chrono because I had not done it in a long time. My buddy had just Chrono his Crossbow...at 920 FPS and about 3-4 FPS spread in 8 Shots. I then got the WC II and decided I'd measure two magazines and see what I got. The first two or three shots measured 1100 FPS and then it settled down and ran in the 840-50 range. The shot spread was 22 FPS, not counting the first three shots. I then shot the second magazine and had a spread of 33 FPS in 8 shots.
I then went out to my steel and paper targets and had to make a lot of elevation changes on the scope for previously zeroed distances. Even after I reset the zero I would get a few in almost the same hole and then they started going all over the place. Here's what I can eliminate, I think. All the scope mounts are tight. I was about 200 bar after a fill to 240. Same gun. Same pellets. Tried what others suggested was creating accuracy issues with my Sniper and cleaned the barrel. Many shots through that thing and the cloth was barely dirty.
Why the absurd changes in velocity when I first started out? Why the large spreads in FPS after that? Are either or both of those related to the changing zero point?
I don't even know where to start. Think I'll got out in the morning and run it all again. I kind of hope it doesn't behave. If it works fine then, I will have not a clues what has caused these issues. Just in case you were wondering, I don't drink and even though Washington State is a Cannabis free state I wasn't smoking tobacco or Cannabis. Some might argue that mental health might be an issue...just kidding.. Thanks for your thoughts..
