Way too many chipmunks, a walk with the FWB 124 sport

Every time I take a walk, the chipmunk network comes alive. It follows me wherever I go. I almost never carry a rifle.

I decided I better start thinning out the chipmunks. On a warm day taking a short walk I will easily see a dozen and hear 50. So if I let them all have another cycle of pups, good bye acorns.

The squirrel 🐿 population seems to be way down this summer, which is good. I rarely even see one.

I expected to easily get a half a dozen chipmunks on my walk. I nailed my first one within 50 yards. And then everything changed.

everything went quiet. It was a half hour of quiet stalking before I got my next shot. I only ended up killing three. Two are unretrievable. Usually as I walk through the woods they are all screeching at me standing up on branches and stumps. It was like I flipped a switch with the first shot.

all three were off hand, All three folded. The FWB is a piece of art The trigger is divine.

Yep....thevword spreads quickly, I have had similiar experiences with these very smart critters. Their reflexes are so quick they can even dodge a pellet!! I had a privacy fence in my back yard, with fire wood stacked up against it. The chippers made a hotel out ofvthe wood pile. Many times I took a shot and watched their head duck only to find a hole in the fence board right behind their head!!!!

If you miss with a FWB its you and not the gun. They are nice.

agreed. In their entire history they have only made two sporting air guns. Both are shooting marvels, both were commercial failures.

They were commercial failures because they cost too much to make.

The trigger on the newer sport, is the best of any springer I own other than match rifles.
