Nation,
There are different takes on the whole washing thing. I personally wash all Pellets, no matter what the brand. Regardless of the brand, I have found with EVERY batch I ever washed, even JSB'S and Air Arms, there are always flakes of swarf and pieces of lead at the bottom of the container that I wash them in.......always. In the beginning of my Field Target endeavors, I would use a coffee filter to see what it would catch...youd be amazed by how much stuff is on the average batch of pellets. Even the so called cleaner ones. I would rather not have those flakes on my pellets, for they can eventually foul out a barrel.
Does washing and lubing them increase accuracy? Possibly not, but it will reduce fouling time in the long run. I've found that after washing and lubing my pellets, I retain good accuracy for a longer period of time. With the absence of washing and lubing, I was constantly cleaning barrels because the accuracy waned, and needed to be cleaned every couple hundred shots. Most of my competition rigs only have to be cleaned up maybe twice a season, instead of every 2 weeks. Some people swear by it, some don't, to each their own.
