Warne Vapor rings

I was walking the isles in my local Cabelas the other day and spotted these.

Available in both 1" and 30 mm. I needed a pair of 30 mm and the price was pretty good. They are aluminum and incredibly light weight 2.04 oz for a pair. I've had Warne steel rings on a powder burner before and was impressed, so I bought these.

The. fit and finish on these seemed pretty good. But I thought I better check out the alignment with my Wheeler lapping kit.

First two pictures are before lapping, first pic is the. side view, second is from the top. As you can see, the second pic shows that the rings are out lightly

After about a half hour of lapping, the second set of pics shows an improvement.

My only gripe with these is that they tighten from the side. I guess I prefer top tightening. After I leveled my scope, the scope did not deviate after rings were tightened (25 in/lbs). Unlike my Aero precision rings. Anyway, good budget friendly, light weight rings! I have these on a .25 Wildcat and have been shooting with no problem. Probably a good fit on a rimfire, too. Not sure about for a springer, though.

I like those for a lightweight rifle no/low recoil. I have used them on several rifles in the last couple years. But for about a year now I have tried to get the 1 inch in high & no one ever has them in stock. If you find the Vapor one inch high in stock let me know.

I have bought some light stuff from this guy in the pass. But he does not sell to fit picatinny, If I am remembering right.

Never bought from th this guy, but he does have some light stuff.
