most gamo breakbarrels will get the job done to 50ft .. the problem with them is reliable accuracy to 50ft is about all theyre good for to get positive and humane kills .. if you have a pest problem your going to need reliable accuracy to 30 yards, or 90 feet imo .. to be effective and humane ive been through this. .. if the pest problem is critical i look at it as it will be 'saving money' to not figure that out later, and just buy a marauder pistol and a handpump to start with, and now you have a correct quality tool to do the job ... but IF all your shots are 50ft or less a walmart gamo breakbarrel can do that fairly good ...

I have no idea what the laws are in NY on anything but your basic red Ryder BB gun, or pellet gun ,they are fairy free and legal if your of age however if NY can step on your rights and kill your fun and freedom they will ,silencers for instance could be tricky.I am a dyed in the wool powder burner and the laws on those keep me busy enough.but I would like a better airgun than the ones I have kicking around here right now.I do know that hunting anything more than small game is taboo so no deer hunting even if you have a big airgun capable of that.No atl-atls either! Some states may allow this.I just threw that Ny legal part in there ,like a lawyer,to cover all bases!

New York legal??? I live in New York. Most if not all calibers are legal. NONE are legal in city limits. But that’s another matter, I’ve taken squirrel with a CO2 hammerli which was about 12 FPE. But that was at 10 yards. If you go PCP there is avenger, the quietest gun I ever used was the HW44 pistol and has enough power for that task , but they cost.

Yeah,I may hang around here and other airgun sites for awhile, they interest me,they fling stuff and that interests me.I have a few Airguns but mostly if they stop working I stop using and they sit,However lately I’ve been eyeing them as an Avenue of ability I have ignored,in other words ithink I would like to start taking them seriously and fix them, and learn thier mechanics,I am a very skilled gun guy fixing, shooting, modifying firearms is my forte’ ,fixing, modifying Airguns is a dark art to me,and should not be,I am ignorant ,I have stumbled there a bit,a pistol I fixed thee times still does not pump up though I replace every seal and it is very accurate when it worked, that Urks me,I should be able to fix it.like any other firearm.perhaps I need a grounding in how compressed gas ,air, co2,spring weapons actually work ,I have several projects to learn on ,if anybody on here can help with info, books cds, online tutorials cool ,
