Walther terrus/parrus value.

I like mine a lot, but there's no comparing the HW80 to the Terrus, in my opinion. I compare it to my recently acquired RWS 34, which is a common relationship, it seems. I consider the Terrus to be a medium powered, moderately accurate or better rifle...in .22...but I consider my tuned, vintage R1 to be of magnum power...also in .22. They occupy two different stalls in the stable. My R1 is a laser...not so much the Terrus, but I'm still working on that! I definite feel that I got my money's worth.

I'm not familiar with Crosman or Hatsan...the only Crosmans I have are a couple of Quest 1000X's in .177, and neither of those are in my serious shooting rotation...as I don't care for the caliber. I have toyed with the idea of getting a Hatsan Dominator or Torpedo, but that's up the road, if ever. Because the Terrus is a German wood and steel rifle, in my own mind, it's in a totally different league than the Crosman, Hatsan, or similar. Others may disagree, but that's just the way I feel. I may change my mind if and when I get a Hatsan.

I have a Terrus in 22, easy to cock, and really nice and accurate, not terribly hold sensitive or fussy about pellets. Trigger is weird, but it doesn’t seem to affect accuracy in my hands. Has major droop, but I live with it since it is accurate. I also have a Parrus 22 I bought after the good experience with the Terrus. The Parrus is a finicky beast to shoot, not a pleasure or accurate like the Terrus. I bought both used in the range of $125, in original box with hang tags. $149 seems like a reasonable price for the Terrus, but my experience with the Parrus, I wouldn’t do it again, even at $100, ymmv...
