Walther Rotek

Okay so I have a chance to get my hands on my choice of a .177 or .22 Walther Rotek at a eye popping deal but I wanted to see what you guys think about them.
I mean I know Walther makes target rifles and their Barrels are considered to be one of the best. But watching some of the reviews and reading online posts what I see is a mid line good hunting gun with a beautiful stock, but nothing really to jump up and down about

I had both calibers (sold .177 on this forum). It is a very solid platform. Accuracy comparable to the Wildcat (i own daystate, fx, air arms, and custom guns) so trust me when I say it's accurate. Its heavy but the weight is nicely centered by the trigger.
know that it has a rough cocking action, it's loud (1/2 unf thread for a moderator) with an annoying (IMO) 'boink' hammer slap with no remedy, and it can double load.
60 good shots. Mags are sturdy and cheap. Lots of aftermarket parts on eBay (UK distributors...I bought a shroud that worked better than a Huggett).
If you get it for $500 Or less SNATCH IT! It's a work horse (exceptional bench shooter).
I got spoiled with refinement in air rifles...Rotek fell kinda short due to the above.

Do you think it might be a little to heavy for field target?
