Walther Reign

So I have my eye set on this, but after doing some research it looks like the American version is an unshrouded barrel with a Moderator that is perm mounted.

The European version I watched on several reviews, show the barrel to have a shroud and threaded to accept a moderator.

What the Hell Walther??? It looks like they have an M2 version out that corrects the perm moderator. How does one go about getting that version?

Or do I have to wait until they hit our shores?

Correct.

I tried, somewhat carefully to remove the OEM suppressor from the barrel on my Reign, without messing up the barrel...without success.

It really didn't matter anyway as I had planed on shortening the barrel in the first place. I cut, and cleaned up the barrel so that the (Tatsu) suppressor is right up against the stock, making the gun about as short as I could "easily" get it. A slide on adapter is available for a smooth barrel O.D., and secured with two set screws. The Donny, Tatsu screws right in place.

I've removed the red dot spacer since this photo was taken.

Since Umarex/Walther airguns share a facility with Walther firearms they are under additional restrictions when it comes to suppressor style designs thus why it's permanent design. I guess they felt having a suppressor for the same price as a shroud made more sense and for most people it probably does. I feel the forum guys are not the norm when it comes to airgun sales.

A reason may to be cover their butt, they may think a "law" states a suppressor can not be removable....and maybe for export it is a company policy?

Maybe to add length so it is a rifle and not a pistol...just guessing, maybe someone really knows the answer.

That is a Kool looking Reign !
Look at the amount of guns now with the shoruded and fixed moderators. Like hatsan for a example nothing but QE no more solid or threaded barrels.
Overseas you can still get them.

Also im thinking like kral punchets will all be that funky trombone shrouded thing... Yuck. It's about if you need somthing nicer or more or whatever you got to get out of the USA market to get it ( i bet that soon to change even more ).
Look at the wider selection thete then here.. heck like gamo look at what gamo eu has to what gamo usa has...lol its called choice.
