Walther Reign .25 caliber Review

I also shoot from my left shoulder and almost ordered one of these several times. The built in "moderator" was the biggest issue for me. No simple way to make this back yard friendly. Then I found my P35. Doesn't need a moderator and it's shorter and lighter. But if Walther would take off the do nothing moderator and just have a 1/2x20 thread and cap and maybe add a moderator this would be a nice alternative.

Yeah, I find the little Reign (mine's a .22) a nice little gun, especially...for the cost. Accurate, easy to shoot, handy (size wise).

And yeah, the factory suppressor...doesn't suppress much ! I also fixed the echo in the stock with some automotive sound deadener. Worked wonders. My last "fix" was a ball point pen spring in place of the factory garage door spring.

I fixed the sound problem -

Umarex is releasing the M2 Reign in the EU. It does not have the built in moderator. I sent Umarex an email asking if and when the Reign M2 would be released in the US.

The response from Umarex:

We have no information to share on that subject at this time.
Pretty silly isn't it? They sell a Gauntlet 2 .30 that does 100FPE that comes suppressor ready but they won't import the little Walther Reign that way. My favorite part is how they politely say, '...and we're not going to tell you why.' Their company, their rules; my money, going elsewhere.

It is not a big deal to remove the "moderator" on a Reign and replace it with a functioning one. Donny FL has a video on how to do this, although there are less involved ways to accomplish the same goal. The Donny FL method is more elegant than just snapping off the tube, though, which is what I did on mine.

I really just wish that there was a way to add the M2 regulator to the first version to flatten the shot curve a bit.
