Walther LG51

First time on the forum. Working on a Walther LG51. Thorough cleaning, compression tube prep, new seals. The anti-bear trap slide seems to have the "V" tip broken off. Is this part necessary for correct function? The gun cocks fine (the piston stem locks into the trigger mechanism), but the trigger cannot be pulled fully to disengage the sear to release the piston. The part that blocks the trigger (don't know the name since all parts diagrams I can locate are in German) can be pivoted forward slightly with a jeweler screwdriver to allow complete trigger travel to release the piston. But something needs to move the trigger block automatically (anti-bear trap slide?). Silly question: where could a person locate a new anti-bear trap slide? Thanks much for your help. Don

Don,
I'm no authority on Walthers though I do own an LG55 Tyrolean which I love. The 51 is early, perhaps the first post-war model Walther made. The anti-bear trap is necessary for functionality. One good resource is the American "Vintage Airgun" Forum: http://www.network54.com/Forum/405945
There are a group of persons there with a wealth of knowledge. However, I've never been able to post there despite membership in the Yellow Forum which I think is the parent forum. It seems that whoever manages the Vintage forum doesn't check on persons wanting permission to post.

One reference I bookmarked: http://www.network54.com/Forum/405945/message/1377208874/Vintage+Walther+spring+rifles+-+a+few+observations+of+parts+progression.

Do you know how to Google inside a given website? <search terms> site:<website>
Here is a search for LG51 on the Vintage Forum: http://tinyurl.com/zmycrjx

Another resource for someone who made the part for an LG55 http://tinyurl.com/he2xr25

Finally you may have a slight chance getting the part here http://www.sportwaffen-schneider.de/

Good luck and post some pictures!
