I shoot paintballs at 45 yards and farther if I want a real challenge. I love the "pop" of a solid hit and the splash.

A bright yellow fluorescent paintball exploding when hit by a pellet is a glorious sight in the evening sunlight!

Paint balls are cheap, but they're small and don't really pop like I want them to. So, I bought some concentrated tempura paint (water-based finger paint and other uses) from Hobby Lobby, and mixed it with 2/3 water, in a plastic pint water bottle. When you hit them with a fast .25 or fast .30, then really spray bright color. The florescent pink and green work best.
