Is there a way to adjust the Vulcan regulator myself, and get a fairly accurate pressure setting, without having to buy this very expensive regulator pressure testing tool?
You can, but it's going to involve drilling a hole on the regulated chamber section of the airtube and installing a pressure gauge. The next question would then be "Would this be a cheaper route to take than getting a reg-tester?" LOL!
My Vulcan doesn't have the bleed screw at the back of the air tube like the ones shown in the Ernest Rowe and KS Airguns videos. I was told because it leaked so much they got rid of it so I assume the only way to bleed the pressure is by loosening up the manometer? Also what do you mean by anti rot pin ?
The vulcans without the bleed screw can be degassed like a marauder. Remove the hammer spring adjuster bolt and spring and use a 12x1 mm (check again for correct thread size) bolt of required length to do it. Alternatively you could also place a suitable rod between the spring adjuster (with hex now) and hammer. Just my thoughts..
I do think trying to wing the adjustment on the regulator would be difficult. If you watch the Ernest Rowe video, you can see that a very small turn in the adjustment screw makes a fairly large change.
I may have to break down and buy a regulator adjustment tool for one time use.... To bad we can't rent or borrow it.
