VULCAN questions

Wondering how much of a sound difference between the .22 and the .25 VULCAN. Gen 4 in stock form. No LDC.

My .25 @ 45 FPE has a pretty loud crack to it without the Donnyfl. Is the .22 significantly quieter? Especially if it were tuned down to 20-25 FPE?

Hi Matt, I had both and both were tuned by Ernest. The .22 was way quieter than the .25. The loudest part for me was the hammer slap. But a good adjustment for air consumption and power will quiet down the .22 a lot.

Just my opinion. I have both, gen 4 .22 and .25. They are both loud to me. Again, just my opinion. People even say the wildcat .22 and .25 were quiet. I didn't think so, definitely a crack that I would rather my neighbors not hear. Maybe I have sensitive ears or quite simply spoiled with my DonnyFL LDCs. Haha

in comparison my Vulcan. 25 was noisier than my Crown .25 with the shroud in and out the Crown was much quieter than Vulcan. Think most .22 quieter than most .25. Certainly my Daystate airwolf in .22 was quieter than both .25. The neighbours will more likely hear the pellet strike most unless target damped.

I have a .25 vulcan and its just a bit to loud for my tastes when it comes to shooting in my backyard. However I did add a donnyfl suppressor and it made a big difference. I also used another suppressor I had got from talon tunes when I first purchased the pup. that also worked. Anyway, look into a suppressor.

Thanks for the replies you guys. I was daydreaming of being able to run a bullpup as a true bullpup without any added length necessitated by an LDC. Elbow, I have a SUMO and TATSU for my .25 cal VULCAN. They are great but I was hoping the .22 version was quiet enough as-is to run without LDC.
