Vulcan 3 Long .30 Cal just arrived.

Were you the one that had a 30 cal. Uragan couple years ago and was competitively shooting with it? Sorry if that was not you and I am confused with someone else, but anyways enjoy! Look forward to hearing more about your New Vulcan 3.

I have never been in a competition with airguns nor will be.

I have a Uragan in .22 Cal not in .30 Cal.

I just shoot at home and during hunting with my air rifles.

Because of the results I had this past season with the JSB' Hades in .30 Cal and because of the authonomy and power of the Vulcan 3 Long, I am assuming that this rifle will be very good for hunting.

I'm waiting myself for a decent weekend to test my .30 V3 out.

I have been surprised that there hasn't been more people talking about the V3. Given it's plenum versatility and power potential, I figured more people would have picked one up.

Or possibly many are waiting to see some performance and slug results from the field before taking the plunge...

Power with slugs is limited due to valve design and hammer weight in my opinion. I'm making power parts in my shop now and hope to do some testing Sunday. In stock form it can only push 54.5gn NSA slugs to 950 at max hammer spring. You can get more power with 50gn pellets due to the lower friction.

Okay if talking is what you want.

I am sitting here on needle and pins waiting for GLS to notify me that i can go pick up the spare parts for my Vulcan 3, then i will race home and run some numbers ( crono in current no plenum condition VS what the rifle was supposed to be like with a plenum ) small plenum is all i need as it is a .177 i have

I am also thinking should i bring the sleeping bag and go to my friends place to shoot both Saturday and Sunday, and what kind of target can i put up out at 75 M, and should i also shoot some 50 Y bench rest targets, as last time i did with the Maverick it was a embarrassment and my M8 severely outshot me with a 10 year old Cutlass.

Man i still wish i had been able to pick up the Vulcan 3 in 700 mm /.22, but that is sadly a far too powerful firearm for any Dane to posses,,,,,, it could give them revolutionary ideas, rising against their powederburner equipped masters and their puppets. :)

Also thinking,,,,,,, should i polish my barrel today,,,,,,,, just a little ;-)

Dont get me wrong i would like the .30 too, but as a guy on a Danish pension, living in Denmark,,,,,, in regard to ammo cost, that would be unsustainable.

Got replacement parts installed, and did a little crono work here in the living room, actually getting a plenum did not make much change in regard to the speeds i measured.

Going shooting tomorrow and the day after too, even if weather are back to less than desired, probably have to make do with 50 M range as gusts at least are where they will kick pellets around.

I am still going to play with that and put a few 50 Yard BR targets in my case, and see how i like that

Monday will be next to ideal weather, but i will have to visit the police station to apply for a moderator permit and also import permit as i would of course not buy such a thing here in Denmark.

As I do not use bipods to shoot I covered the under weaver rail with a painted hose. Now I have a soft and resistant rest that will protect the stock:

I have to correct myself, i have not been shooting my .177 Vulcan 3 at 75 M, that was me eyeballing it, and i came up short as it is actually 83 M i am shooting ( 90 Yards according to Leupold range finder )

And i did that again today :) shooting a bit slow as i forgot to turn hammer back up after dialing back a little to shoot JSB Heavy and barracudas which is 10.5 or so grains, so i am going to dial it back up tomorrow and then hit the range again on Wednesday.

I aint getting super groups yet :-( but i am peashooting with a choked 200 mm shorter barrel, so i am not complaining.

We put up a ghetto gong ( small old stainless steel kitchen sink ) and within 1 mag i managed to deliberately "cut" a branch that was in front of the "gong" a fairly small branch under 10 mm i diameter i recon. No problem hitting the gong as it is about the size of a LP record, funny thing though me hitting it with a 13.4 grain KO slug sound much louder than when my friend hit it with a 18 Grain .22 Pellet, even if our muzzle speeds was about the same according to my crono.

I can only assume it is my slugs that carry more speed out there VS my friends heavier "lead balls with a parachute" ( pellets )
