Vulcan 3 .30 care and feeding

I just got one and while I have shot it only a very little it pretty much tore one solid hole with one complete mag of jsb 44.75 at 45-50 yards. I also had some cheap apolo 49 grain and those shot horrible in the Vulcan. I myself just ordered like 9 tins of 44.75 from PA. The 44.75 were running 915-920 fps.
I still had about 5 FX (JSB) 44.8 single pellets left that I put over the chrono and they were going supersonic. Is yours tuned down?

Yeah I had K9AIR (member here and lives close by) go through and tune mine for pellets. I bought it used and it was set up for over 100 ft/lbs. The reg was setup for the big plenum orientation, the reg was set really high and it had a heavy spring in it. He flipped the reg to small plenum orientation, turned it down to 145 or 150 bar and put the stock spring back in. That is how the pellet tune was achieved. He’s a great guy and does awesome job for cheap. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it shoot him a pm.

Well I did get this as a slug gun but wondered about the pellets. I'm getting 115 fpe with AVS 62.5's with the factory tune, and really like how they group at 50 and 100. I'm also willing to set the reg and HS myself but am torn between leaving it a slug monster or shooting both. Pellets are cheaper than slugs for sure.

Mac,
Recently bought a Uragan 2 and Vulcan 3, synthetic, .30 and 700mm. Both highly accurate with JSB 44.75s, with only a good Ballistol/PatchWorm cleaning, right out of the box. V3 holds slight edge in accuracy while U2 is smoother and quieter, nicer to shoot. Not a fan of JSB 50.1 grain, so haven't tried. Am looking forward to release of Zan's new premium 58 grain .30 pellets, think might be perfect fit. WM

What fps are you sending the 44.75's down range with the V3?

Well if you haven't touched the gun since getting it and it's a .30 700mm ? It should be getting over 100 fpe unless you got it from Toni and he tuned it down..
Well, here's the stats for a 7-shots (JSB 44.75) just chrono'd. Mean: 986.2 FPS, SD: 2.73, 96.6 FPE. Purchased from Krales, high power setting. Close enough, I'd say. Devastating on crows. WM

I hunted crow many years ago but got skunked most of the time no matter what I used. Nice work! about 100 fpe is good for such lite projectiles. How stable are the jsb's at 50 yards? Figuring 100 wasn't tested. I'm sure you had to sight in to be able twap those crows....

Both guns wear Vector Veyron 6-24x44 FFP optics on WestHunter Low-Profile (30mm) Cantilever ring setups, sighted @ 50. These crows were taken (U2@1, V3@2) week, or so, ago when a Redtail hawk landed in a tall pine 25 yards from back porch, mobbed by couple dozen. Some flying, others landing in same tree and more in nearby pine. Crows were no match for either gun, I let porch door slowly swing open and leaned on opposite frame. My fault only one round in U2 magazine, grabbed V3 and got last two. (Keep loaded .30 mags in an old coffee mug by porch door now.) Redtail repeated same trick next day, U2 took three more, turns out he was eating ones I shot. Redtail has tried calling from that pine several more times, crows aren't falling for it. WM
