Vulcan 3 .22 500mm

So I ordered one of these guns. I've been using a Taipan Veteran Short .22 for months now as a dual purpose gun, longer ranges at 28fpe and shorter at 15fpe made easy with a DonnyFL speed dial. And it has fulfilled that role with great success. I have recently just gotten a Vixen .22 for my shorter range 15fpe needs. Man it is an amazing little gun for that. What I love about it is the absolute dead shot cycle meaning no movement when trigger is pulled. And very accurate and great trigger and man the side lever is so smooth and easy.

So now that I have that role filled I decided that I wanted a gun to take the longer ranges role basically 50-100yds. My Shorty has never let me down shooting longer ranges but a larger gun with more shot count definitely was something I was looking into. The Taipan Long was an interest, however just getting the Vixen and having had an Uragan in the past I really looked into one again. With no one having one, I did more looking and found out about the Vulcan 3. Not learning about them until very recently, they look like an amazing gun with a much better overall package than what the Vulcan 2s were. And I think even more so than the Uragans.

20MOA rail, mono block design, degas screw, flippable plenum, large moderator, super nice smooth forward cocking lever, great easy to use mags that are very easy to put in the gun, and a large amount of air. And magazines between the Vixen and Vulcan 3 can be shared so I'll have 4 mags between the 2 which is nice.

Sad thing is though I will need to sell the Taipan which will be difficult for me as the gun hasn't skipped a beat being used heavily the past few months.

But I look forward to the Vulcan 3. Which will of course be paired with my 2-12x42 Helos BTR Gen2.

Good luck with it. I’ve been contemplating an Uragan myself recently. I’m actually looking at selling off all my FX guns, and going this route. I have my leshiy 2 for close range .22, but I crave a .30 for longer distance stuff. The Uragan had checked all the boxes, but the Vulcan 3 looks to be much more powerful. My only worry would be weight. I eagerly watch for your review when it arrives!

I was really considering a Cricket Tactical 45 in 30 Cal from Charlie, but that Vulcan 3 looks so nice in the compact version. I only need max power of about 900 ft./s so it would work just fine. Price seems Very reasonable also at about $1800.

I kind of bounced around a little bit between the Uragan and the Vulcan 3, but ultimately I ended up deciding on the FX Maverick Sniper from Utah and 30 Cal when it’s times to buy. I really sat and thought about what I really wanted in the airgun to replace my wildcat compact 30, which I liked, but for now it needed to be sold for other financial reasons. I really needed and enjoyed the wheel selector on the back. I almost always found a sweet spot of about 900 at seven and about 840 at number three, with no change of POI within 40 yards and good spreads on those two speeds. This combination gave me a lot of options for distance/power on animals. With the Uragan and the Vulcan 3, I’m kind of stuck at a static speed. So ultimately I went with the FX, but the Vulcan 3 Compact someday will be owned by me over the cricket tactical 45 compact, which is also a very nice looking airgun. I’m so glad that we have so many wonderful options from wonderful manufacturers.

Andy, there is a very nice Uragan on the classified right now with lots of mags. Talk to the guy super nice. I think it’s a really great deal if you’re looking for a 30 Cal. I’m sure you’ve already seen it, but I would’ve pulled the trigger on it if I could’ve. Definitely a beauty. Definitely see the lure of the Vulcan 3 right now. But the Uragan is so tried and true and at 920 tune in 30 Cal, it’ll take out anything within 100 yards coyote size or smaller. For an airgun do we really need more than that? Lol

a week ago i try up the Vulcan 3 .22 cal 700 mm barrel.. all groups are 53 yards distance hope this can help you

this is the gun out of the box

Seems like based on the velocities with the 25 grains that it is allot lower then what the gun should be shooting when it is set with the regulator on the side giving a larger plenum with the stock 110 bar on the reg or at least based on how mine came. I’m assuming yours is set to the smaller plenum configuration. If that is the case then you may be nearly maxing out the hamerspring to get these velocities I think either flipping the regulator to the larger plenum side and backing off the hammer spring or keeping your reg where it is increasing the regulator pressure and backing off the hammer spring will prolly tighten up your velocity spreads.

Got it in today! Gun shoots incredibly well. Very comfortable gun to get behind. Action noise is on the louder side but not bad. Fit and finish is top notch. I really like what they did with this gun. Top group is first 5 at 50yds. Next 2 also 5 shots at 50yds. Adjusted the scope alittle between each group. FX 16gr pellets at guessing 930fps.

Top 2 pics 6 shots each with AA 16gr. Bottom pic shows an older tin of RD Monsters I've had that I'm gonna use up, less than half full maybe? Wish I had more looking at that accuracy! They larger group above are 12 shots with CPHPs. Not terrible but not great. I have over 10k 16gr pellets in the different varieties and seems to like them all so happy there.

Hey Dillon what’s the noise your talking about. Ping ? Just curious about the noise. How’s the report with the new shroud. Hopefully get more guys post about the gun. Not many say much. I do know that the 22-700mm some got are not happy with the barrel but it looks like it still shoots pellets.

Which gun do you prefer? The Vulcan 3 or the veteran? I’ve narrowed it down to these two guns but can’t decide on which one to buy. I wish we had a store nearby to hold one.

If I had to choose I'd pick Vulcan 3. Not that the Taipans aren't good or anything far from that, but I like the simplicity of the mags on here, forward cocking is definitely a bonus, same CZ barrels that are very accurate, tons of air on tap, adjustable butt pad and nice cheek rest does make a difference. But you don't get those for free with the $400ish difference in price.
