I'm posting some quick pics and will get more into it tomorrow. My first impressions are WOW!! Big thanks to Peter over at TAG we had numerous talks and answered all of my annoying questions. lol. The first thing you notice when you open the case is how small it is. For .25 this size to make this kind of consistent power is mind blowing. The stock is nice as feels very comfortable, The cocking handle is sturdy and must be a huge improvement over the ball design. It's super light in my opinion, it's actually light than my cricket compact with the synthetic stock but it's packing a much greater punch. Trigger is crisp out of the box and I will play with it to see if i can get it close to my cricket trigger. The report seems to been backyard friendly but it's hard to tell with a hammer slap ting you get when fired. I'll do more on the sound test and have someone fire it while I stand away because I think the hammer slap is deceiving. The mag is simple and holds and cycles polymags with no issues. If you were on the fence with this one you better order one!!!!

Didn't realize at first but this stops the mag for rotating to the next round. Very similar to the Cricket.

sweet looking gun the stock looks bad a$$ i do believe your first impressions are spot on especially with the new ldc that's it's just the hammer slap in your ear is deceiving and that it is backyard friendly I shot the first one out of two .25 too hit the country thanks to keysersosa and I thought it was impressively quiet for how short it was and it's my understanding the new moderator is 40% more efficient I was amazed at the accuracy of this gun cz hammer forged barrel is the bizness and the gun is built like a tank very sturdy I been looking at this gun for long time but the pictures do it no justice!!!! u have to hold it and like u already said wow! congrats would like to c your shot strings and groups

Congrats on the getting the coolest 25 caliber on the market. You will love that gun. The little gun can pick of clay targets from 160 to 200 yards at will. The extreme spread is the best I have ever seen on a 25 caliber. The owner Evgeny is a forward thinking engineer. He listened to us and made immediate improvements on the gun. Most gun makers worried about cost of tooling and profit will milk a design even if it's poor. After I bought my Vulcan Evgeny contacted me as asked what improvements I would like to see. Bam the next batch he improves the gun.

Congratulations! I will be receiving mine soon too. This will be my first and only high-end airgun, so I hope it is everything you all say it is. When paying this much for an airgun I had to be in love. So looks to me are as important as being short, light weight and functional. In my opinion this is the only .25 bullpup that meets all my criteria. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but this is the only choice for me... Can't wait to see it in person.

Aircrazy and Keysersoze, tell me about your glass on the Vulcan. What do you, or what are you planning to use and why? I'm considering Hawke 6 X 24 1/2 mildot 20x reticle or 6X24 with 1/2 mildot 10X reticle. I will regularly have opportunity to shoot 100 yds or less until I find a place to shoot further. Let me know if there are other scopes in the $550 or less price range that I should consider.

For the money you cannot beat the SWFA super sniper fixed power. I'll bet when hunting you don't adjust your power setting too much. At the higher magnification the field of view is less and mirage is overwhelming. The mil-quad is the best reticle for an airgun on the market in my opinion. The scope is light compact and simple.


Look at my old post I have holdovers for the 25 cal with the mil-quad.

Vulcan .25 Fist Impressions

This is my first expensive airgun and I expected better. The wood stock looks and feels like plastic, and sounds like hollow plastic when I tap back by the butt end. There are flaws which I first thought were pin holes in a couple of areas.




But when seen close up they look like debris under walnut patterned shelf paper. Overall the Vulcan's stock actually looks sort of OK, just not what I'd expect from a $1600 airgun, and not nearly up to the level of my $600 Sumatra.

After replacing a nicked o-ring on the fill probe and replacing the included foster quick disconnect with one from my Hatsan I was able to fill the Vulcan with air with my trusty hand pump... what a workout over 200 bar. Why can't manufacturers include a quick-disconnect fitting and move the pressure gauge where it should be - in the stock. Fill probes are a royal pain. And the gauge on this airgun is pretty pitiful... difficult to see the 250 bar max.

Taking my first shot the Vulcan jammed... it seems to jam about every 4th mag or so. The bolt is really stiff and the end of the bolt wants to back out after a mag or two. Item 62 Plug bearing (if I'm reading the PL correctly) also slowly backs out after shooting a few mags.

Item 72 Power adjuster is what I think the red thingy below may be. But I don't know if that is the way it's supposed to look or if it should have more parts since it is not mentioned in the manual other than in the PL and there are no related picts or instructions.



Speaking of the manual, it has some nice pictures. It also calls the Vulcan a weapon and says I can't hunt with it. It calls the safety a weapon lock. The weapon lock is stiff in my opinion.

If the Vulcan turns out to be as accurate as some say, and I can stop the Vulcan from jamming then I will be able to overlook the other flaws. But that is yet to be seen since I haven't sighted it in yet... my Simmons scope elevation is maxed out and I have some different rings on order. Hopefully that will address the problem.

I do like the trigger... a lot, and do like its weight and balance.

Wish me luck with this one...I hope things improve, I really do want to like it.

Thanks for sharing. Bummer about that finish....I wonder what that is?? Will be looking forward to you're future posts to see if operating the gun gets better. That's a great looking design and I love the placement of the action. Innovative for sure. I bet others copy it.
