Vulcan 2 and JSB Hades, .25 and .30 Cals. Hades .30 Cal confirmed on coyotes

Hi Emu,

Thank you for sharing your results with the Gen 2 Vulcans in .25 and .30 caliber’s utilizing JSB Hades pellets. What speeds and distances are you shooting when you mention “shot so good” could you please give us an example? Perhaps the difference in size of a 5 shot group comparing the two different pellets. Which, of the two, have you found to be the most accurate to 100 yds. and beyond?

I too, would like to make use of the Hades pellets; but they must be just as accurate as a standard diabolo pellet out to a 100 + yds. Humm, I wonder?

Lastly, what type of animal or animals are you hunting?

I will make some groups with both and will share them here.

I had to make some changes in my shooting range. My longer target is now at approx 90 yards.

At that distance both rifles make excellent groups.

Outside I can shoot at almost 190 yards and with no wind, both rifles would'nt give a chance to a rabbit size target. For sure they would hit the vitals. So that for me is enough proven accuracy.

I have not had the opportunity yet to test the Hades .30 on any hunting. .25 are devastating on middle size birds. I have not try them yet on wild turkeys.

Here the groups with .30 Hades and .25 Hades at 90 yards go.

Three shots with Vulcan 2 .30 Cal and JSB Hades:

Now four shots at 90 yards with Vulcan 25 Cal and Hades:

There was some wind, so without wind the group could had been better. For sure I would never win an EBR competition, but I have never been there nor will be. For hunting purposes is more than enough accuracy.

I received my 1st order of JSB .25 Hades for my Royale 500 in December of 2019. Since then I've used nothing else in that gun. The accuracy is supreme, something I wasn't expecting. In all that time from then til now I think I've only had 2 or 3 pass throughs & I've taken out hundreds & hundreds of ground squirrels & rabbits, a few as close as 30 yards! I had the use of Pesty3782's .25 Vulcan for a couple weeks this year & tried them in that gun but the JSB 25.39gr worked better. I'm glad they're working so well in your gun. The energy dump into prey is devastating. Happy New Year Emu!

Found this video in YouTube. Difference on damage with Hades is BIG:

I watched about half of vid. Did reviewer say way his fps was? I shoot .25 Hades from time to time on squirrels digging in my garden. I get mostly pass thru shots (head). my fps is about 940. I wonder if I have to drop my speed to better energy drop without an exit wound?

About 3 months ago I got a pop shot on a young coyote very close at 25 yards. I was rabbit hunting with the .30 jsb so they were all I had in the mag. I hit him just behind the shoulder a touch high offhand and he ran about 50 yards and piled up dead. The pellet was right at the exiting side skin and def did its job. Its not my first choice but they work pretty well.
