I completely agree. Competing with a .177 springer would say a lot more, but let’s not get too crazy..

Looks like I’m bringing the .20 cal after all. Sold the scope and rings off of the RAW yesterday! Wish me luck with that pea shooter Daystate 😉

I hope you're hunting on level ground, because both of those guns could be a handful to pack through the woods! 

I am assuming you consider them equally accurate, as that would be the primary concern. That said, if you are going to be in the woods with a bunch of others, I think the .20 would be a better choice. If by some chance you blow through the squirrel and miss the backstop, that's a tinier chunk of lead to descend from above. And the .20 has plenty of energy to do the job. Personally, I think I would turn the power down a tad on that beast. You must be flinging pellets darned near supersonic.

These tournaments don’t work that way, (thank god!) Basically, you pay the entry fee and hunt wherever you want in the state. ALL laws apply (5 squirrels per hunter, etc) Then you have to be at the weigh in on time, not a second later. Needless to say, the closer the weigh in is to your “spot” the better. More time in the woods, less time driving.

Those rules make it an easy decision then: shoot the .20 and punch a smaller hole in the squirrel-heavier weigh in for the tournament.

What pellets? Are they still available to purchase-I have always loved the idea of a hot .20 caliber, with very heavy pellets. If I can find pellets, I may want to do one of those in the future (different gun though).

Sean, sadly the Korean 24gn .20 heavies are impossible to find nowadays. They were meant to go fast and designed for the Korean guns at 50+ fpe. All I did was put a .20 cal barrel on a 50fpe Daystate years ago. I have enough ammo to last a while, then I’ll just convert back to .22 and have an “ordinary” 50fpe .22 cal, haha. But yea, .20 is the sweetest airgun bore of all time (IMO)
