Vortex PG3 HO

Just installed one in my TX200. WOW is all I can say! I replaced a PG2 12 lb kit which was working fine. Now it shoots like a tuned gun that would have cost much much more plus would have taken lord knows how long plus the exposure of shipping damage.

Super accurate with JSB 8.4 within the first 20 shots. Ran it over the chrony JSB 10.3 at 845 fps. How the heck can you do better? Easy Peasy!

For what it's worth if you run through the numbers the PG3 appears to be more efficient than the PG2. Tom says this is due to the open coil design. All I know is the first PG3 kit I received was making almost the same velocity as my old PG2, but with noticeably less cocking force. Tom had to clip a couple coils to get the velocity where I wanted it, which reduced cocking force even further. Mine is still going strong and no complaints after a couple tins through the gun.

Haven't had time to do that yet. Im guessing at least 850 -875. I expect that to fall off some as the kit wears in.

Actually, I will be more inpressed with down range accuracy. I'm looking forward to shooting some 55 yd groups on range day, (Wednesday ) weather permitting.

Stay tuned

If your running 845 with a 10.3 I would agree with Yo. My RWS 34 with the JSB 8.44gr (4.53mm head) has settled into the 925-930 fps range. And yes, if you just tuned it it's probably still burning a little lube with each shot. I would expect those 10.3 gr to drop to the 820-830 fps range once excessive lube is burned off.

Range day! Hooray! Here are a couple 50-55yd groups. Range has markers and I put it at what they marked at 55. My scope ranged it at 50. Either way normal Concord winds.

Very impressed with the HO kit.
