Vortex Impact 4000 weapon mounted laser rangefinder

Ordered my Vortex Impact 4000 weapon laser mounted rangefinder this morning with mounts for several rifles. The ability to have a laser rangefinder, ballistic solver, user defined ballistic profiles and environmental sensors that displays firing solutions on a rifle mounted display is awesome.

I love the idea of these things. Wish they wouldn't call our guns "weapons". They are just guns until missused. My wife when she's mad, that frying pan is a "weapon".

Had mine for a couple weeks now, been taking shots near 300 yards. Works as advertised, the Geoballistic app is fairly easy use, has solid Bluetooth connection and its environmental sensors do their thing. I've had great experience with my Sig Kilo 10k, this Vortex Impact is showing great promise so far..

Mount is solid, but tightening the nuts are cumbersome with the supplied wrench. Really wish it came with QD mounts.
Display has some backlight adjustment, easy to read when under cover at the bench, but not so easy under some bright conditions. Then again these 64 year old eyes aren't what they used to be.

Almost done, waiting for a slightly lower rail for the Vortex from Spuhr and of course, learning to use the laser rangefinder and app + finding a tune for the rifle. Took a quick glance at the GeoBallistic app, looks fairly straightforward, coming from Applied Ballistics Solver in Kestrel 5700 Elite AB and Sig Sauer Kilo 3000x binos.

My 1/2 inch Snap-On socket fits without an issue.
