VORTEK CFL Pneumatic Piston!

Holy crap I don't know where to start!

Simply Incredible in design and performance!!!

Well I started out the day by heading to my range to get current chrony numbers on my little R7 in .177 as I knew the CFL was being delivered today. 10 shot string at an average of 570fps with some 8 grain Vogel match that I had on hand..(waiting over a week for shipment from PA for quality pellets) Guess there swamped! Anyway ended up with 14fps spread for those 10 shots.

Then went back home to disassemble the gun waiting on the mail...made sure everything was deburred and smoothed up for the new install.

When I opened the package I was thoroughly impressed right off the bat with the quality of the machine work and overall appearance of the unit! Slightly lubed the outer edges of the seal and the teflon ring at back of the piston. Then carefully worked it into position and reassembled the gun.

Headed back to the range with great anticipation and was NOT disappointed!

First 10 shots straight away over the chrony! No recoil to speak of and cocking was smooth as silk...I about fell out when I saw the numbers on my chrony...almost disbelief!!!

663 average with a 9 fps spread and it got better after that...I shot a couple dozen rounds to rezero my scope and accuracy was fonominal...I then ran 10 more across for 664fps average and only 4 fps spread...yes 4fps!

I think Tom has a winner of a product here and I'm so looking forward to the larger versions for the HW95 and HW97 !

Time will tell but first impression is this product is going to change things for some of us springer shooters! My mini Theoben with a Record trigger...lol

So, the more I read about this product, the more intrigued I get. Thing is, I kinda like my Spring HW30 producing only 6-7 fpe. This allows me for short distance, low impact, but quite effective kill shots at mice, chipmunks, etc.

So, how much fpe are you getting? I’d almost want to buy a second HW30. May just wait for the HW95 version 😃 instead.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Nice! How does it cock and shoot compared to before? YO!

Like night and day difference!

A Little more cocking effort and constant resistance throughout the whole stroke!

Does that make sense?

Shot cycle is very fast with just a little bump backwards....you don't even loose your sight picture in the scope...quiet and fast!!!

Freaking awesome 😝

Thing is Christian you can adjust the power to what ever suits you! Its the shot cycle that is so impressive...no spring torque and almost no movement when fired...

Do you have a Vortek spring version to compare it to? Looks really tempting! YO!

No I don't...just the original factory setup.

From what Tom told me it still has a little gas in tank if wanted to play with it.

They come charged to 70 barr and I think the max is 75 barr...so probably could get about 700fps out of it...but I'm leaving as is for a while to keep testing!

Out of curiosity, how much $$ did it set you back? Does appear to be awesome quality! The little R7 on steroids.

They are $99 plus $20 for the fill adapter

I looked at the page on the site, and if you click on the kit, it lists some breech seals below. Are these needed for this kit to work? If I decided to give this a spin, is the only thing I need is the fill adapter and the piston? The more I look at it, the more tempting it's becoming, at least to try out. Thanks.

You’ll need to contact him to find out for sure. Was just relaying info I had seen while researching this kit.
