VK 34gr HP slugs (22 Cal) - good for FX

Impact MKII, 700mm slug liner, 1:15 twist, 920fps.

100 yds

15 - 20mph quartering headwind.....shot numerous 1 to 1.5" groups. These were my last two groups shot as quickly as I could do them accurately.

I think the trick is the velocity, I know of no air rifle other then the FX impact that will shoot 34 grain ammo at over 900 FPS My brocock sniper HP magnum (why do they title the darned thing that way). Shoots the 40 slug at 610. I have some VK slugs in 24 and 25 but they don't group any better then pellets at 50 to 75 yards. I tried the 40's at 100 and I'm getting about an inch and one half but that's not good enough plus they are dropping like hand grenades at that distance. I've got a call into SPAW to see if he has idea's. Seems like there should be a way potentially at least to push the velocity of the slugs up out of this Brocock. It has all of the inners I think (???). I'm not looking to shoot 200 yards but I'll like really good groups at 75 and 100. Its velocity and rifling twist. I don't know what the twist rate is on the brocock. 15 is slow. Or at least for powder burners it's slow.

My Taipan Veteran .25 caliber Long pushes the JSB Monsters Redesigned 33.95 grain pellets at 940 fps. I've weighed some of these pellets and a significant percentage of them are 34 gr +.

This rifle also produces 61 fpe with the VK 32.8 gr slugs.

should have said 22 cal. I've got a cricket that sends 34 grains out there pretty good too. Never tried slugs . Not sure they would work with the cricket mag and it's not practical to single feed the Cricket.

+1

I believe that FX Impact MK2 Bob_O uses has been modified by "The Master" Ernest Rowe to produce that phenomenal energy in .22 caliber.

Any of this list of my guns will shoot 34 grain .25 caliber over 900 FPS

AirForce Condor .22 & .25

AirForce Condor SS in .22 and .25

AirForce Custom Condor .257 (supersonic)

Huben K1 .25.

Benjamin Marauder (JSAR Valve).

My Texan .257 will send a 34 grain supersonic with great ease.

My Cricket will send 34 grain at over 900 FPS and Slugs are no problem with a Cricket Single Shot Tray.

and more which I am sure others will add to the list.

Thanks Bob! I was pretty sure it might have been 100 yards, but wanted to make certain.

I shoot regularly at an outdoor range at 50 yards with .22 Daystate Regal XL (Huma just added), which was just tuned by Motorhead. The gun is very accurate at 50 yards and less, and I only shoot JSB 15.89 and 18.1 pellets at around 810-820 FPS with the 15.89.

However, I truly have a healthy respect for your groups at 100 yards with slugs. Especially with 15-20 mph wind.

Very nice accuracy and fine shooting!
