Video of Groundhog Shot at 88 Yards

Damn it!! What a shot! Was that an offhand shot?

No not an off hand shot as you might of thought by the initial shaking of the reticle in the video. I was just waiting for him to get into position to bear down on the shot. I was actually shooting of the hood of my van which I make no apologizes for taking every opportunity to get the steadiest shot. I cannot remember ever taking a shot with my air rifles off hand as the toughness and accuracy needed to put down a groundhog is required. In the field I have my shooting sticks to use and if possible will get my back against a tree or post for added stability. Also I will go prone if the lay of the land and grass height allow it too. However you did it, you did it well. Thanks for sharing your excellent shot and exciting moment with us.

Thanks again. I really choose the wrong word 'apologize' to describe the shot was not done off-hand. What I meant was I always try to use the best rest to get the job done when shooting groundhogs because of their toughness. And I do take off-hand shots on smaller game and birds. Bill
