UpNorthAirGunner and the Airgun Sporting Association (ASA) gave an awesome presentation and demonstration for the Big Bore airgun demo at the Midwest DNR Wildlife Chief's meeting this week. Wildlife agencies from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan were all in attendance. The two top Michigan Conservation Officers were also in attendance as well as legislative liaisons and staff of lawmakers throughout Michigan. It was a full day of big bore demonstrations, conversations, Q&A, ammunition and projectile comparisons, and demonstration of airbow / air bolt technologies.
A special thank you to the follow sponsors who made this event possible:
David and Regina Williams from Hunters Supply for donating the HUGE amount of lead that went downrange.
Thank you Kelly from SpyderWeb Targets who donated one of their No Limits ST 24 XL Spyderweb Targets (the only target we have found that can stop a 400 grain bolt flying at 550 FPS)
Pyramyd Air Gun Mall and Airgun Depot who provided the Seneca Dragon Claw .50 and the 909 Light Hunter .45 and AirVenturi Ammo - AirBolts and gong targets.
Hawke for supplying some AWESOME scopes - The Sidewinder ED and Frontier were absolutely amazing and gave us all a crystal clear sight picture for all targets.
Thank you to AirForce Airguns for allowing us to demonstrate the .357 and .45 Texan to showcase the power for both hunting slugs and the AirVenturi AirBolt Barrel System.
And finally - a HUGE THANK YOU to Umarex USA, Inc. who sent one of their lead engineers Kyle to help with the demonstration. We capped off the day with a demonstration of the AWESOME air power of the Hammer .50 cal. Everyone got to shoot it and all I can say is WOW! Good things come to those who wait.... The Hammer is a MONSTER and is going to fill so many freezers with venison this year.
