Couple of things to keep in mind. Brass is not rated for this pressure so you are taking a large risk. I question the 1/8 inch thread on the hose. Usually these are metric M10 etc...you can get a 1/8 to thread onto it but it is Not correct pitch..

Point well taken however I filled a scuba tank to 275 bar before I used it on my FX. All went well. Can you suggest another solution? I appreciate any advice.

It's good that nothing happened, I suggest you don't use it and if you do until your proper connection please stay back...
You can find many fitting sources that provide ss fittings. You need to 1st confirm the male thread used on the hose is it bsp, m10x1 or m8etc....then you can search for the proper fitting.

The FX owner’s manual states that the adapter is 1/8” but I’m going with your recommendation to not use brass.

Keep in mind, there’s 1/8 NPT and 1/8 NPS. One is tapered one is a straight thread. Tapered seals with teflon tape or pipe dope, straight thread seals in various non-tape manner.

I have a couple different guns with male nipples and some using probes. Some mate up and some don’t. I have bought several different quality wips over the years and mate the correct whips together with a double ended male foster. Problem solved and its nice to have longer whips when needed.
