I took the shorty .22 this last weekend for its first ground squirrel hunting, this little pup didn’t disappoint!
Beautiful spring day here in SoCal
First squirrel was @ 45 yards, a head shot with the 18gr JSBs
The next one was an easy shot @ 25 yards
I got at least 16 squirrels with the shorty, later the day I decided to give the .25 Cricket a go, specially because it was getting really windy.
i spotted another @82 yards but it was a difficult one bc a branch was blocking the shot, I waited hopping the squirrel would move but nothing, i got up and turned around I spotted another one, it was on my 6 @23 yards, I guess my camo pants and long sleeve shirt did a pretty good job, it never saw me , I sent a mk2 JSB @890 FPS, it was a headshot I saw it through the scope, when I went to check out the damage it wasn’t there, I was like wtf! How in the hell did the squirrel manage to get back to it’s hole, it was at least 5 feet from were i shot it freaking Zombie squirrels!!!
The longest shot of the day was @112 yards, the squirrel made it easy bc it was fat and big
Another long shot @96 yards, love the Cricket so damn accurate definitely makes me a better shooter, this juvenile presented me a headshot only, actually 3/4 of the head was visible, definitely the squirrel spotted me before I did. The jsb put it to sleep!
On the way back to my truck I spotted another big one, it was 57 yards from my truck,I told myself, let’s finish with the shorty, pretty sure it Got the job done with hard/lung shot, it didn’t twitch at all, it was DRT.
I had great day specially bc both Eastern girls performed flawlessly! Here a few more pictures of the area I was hunting on.
Man I need to get me a scope cam, plenty action for a good pesting video!
