I have a new visitor to my area I am watching. A very rare Devil Dog in this area of NC. We will see the bait fields are set. He was moving so picture is bit out of focus. County below me shot 149 coyotes on a roundup and four were black coyotes.
I never heard of that term. Last year while squirrel hunting, I sat against a tree for a quick lunch and spotted a black coyote trotting along a creek. I watched it through my scope until it disappeared in behind some brush.
Little something about their aggressiveness. Lot of coyote attacks in NC now. Neighbor hunting on creek in deer stand about 1/4 mile from me last week sent me text saying he saw the Devil dog running past with his female . Deer hunters don't like coyotes around here.
Good luck with the hunt. I look forward to seeing a post saying you got him! I saw one quite a few years ago when I was stationed in South Dakota. I thought it was a wolf at first but when I got to my spotting scope he was definitely a coyote. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to take him!
I may have posted this before but people ask. This is 50 yd shot with .30 Dreampup shooting 44gr pellets at 850fps. Taken at 3AM Nitesite Wolf Drops them every time.
Nice! Here shortly when the days start getting longer and the temps raise a little I am going to be focusing on coyotes, wolves and lynx. Really looking forward to that.
