Very limited choices on .30 pellets.

I have that same mold TT, the deep skirt ones i found do better than the heavier shallow skirt. These are my best shooting cast projectiles. Dont bother with that barrel shaped .30 mold from NOE. They are all over the place.

I size those pellets to .299

Thanks! That's good info for me and others. I won't bother with the heavier pins then. I have already been there with the BBTs, and is why I got this mold. .299 sounds good!

What groups sizes are you getting at distance?

Something like 3/4 inch at 50m, thats all ive shot them at so far.

That'll work...Thanks!

I'm loosing a little speed at .299 compared to .300. On a shooting session, I had a half dozen or so grouping at 3/4 inch from this last batch at 52 yards. What speed does yours like?

They're heavy huh? Need some serious HP to get them up in speed.

I am still not having much luck with 50 yard groups with this mold out of a 700mm STX. Any tips? I have worked with the cast and sized and weight sorted them. They look good, but can never get the sprue cut perfectly rounded. I have tried different casting temps and different speeds up to 978 fps. The best I can do with these cast are around 2 to 2.5 inches at 50 yards.

I will be trying them in a 700mm slug A liner soon. I also just checked my casting batches closer. The ones cast at higher temps I can size to .301 and they weigh in the 47.5 grain area. The 46.5 gr cast temps have smaller diameters and can only be sized at .299 or .30 and still see markings from being sized. I have tried sizes from .298 to .301. There doesn't seem to be a discernable difference in groups, but speed changes a good amount between the different sizes.

Update: I have been able to get these down to 1.5" groups at 52 yards. Some groups are coming in at 1" and .5" as well. The difference from before is using some lube on these cast (FP-10). This is with a new 700mm STX slug A liner also instead of the STX pellet liner used previously. Without out the lube the groups are much worse.
