Vendor Accountability Ensures I Have an "Updated Regulator"

I saw a thread on this site that really troubles me. The topic was:

"FX Impact X (Impact) How to know if you have updated Regulator (Photo)"

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I understand the crap shoot that involves purchasing a used air rifle from an individual, even when the transaction is made in person with the desired item in hand for inspection.
Buying any item over the internet involves a whole other level of trust on the part of the customer. It is my contention that communication among members of the airgun community [sic] -- the type of which occurs on this forum -- is essential in ensuring that bad actors are exposed and driven out of business if they refuse to adhere to ethical business practices with customer satisfaction being the main objective.
I believe that the customer should be able to ask the vendor "is this an updated version, the most recent edition of the FX Impact" with the expectation he -- the potential customer -- will receive a truthful and honest answer. If a false or misleading response is offered by the vendor/sales representative, and the customer has proof of this deception, sanctioning i.e. boycott of the offending party would be justified. The bad actors would in effect be driven out of business if they refuse to amend their ways.
This site has proved to be a valuable resource to me and I greatly appreciate all the information and assistance I have received here. Please continue with the good work and excellent communication. This benefits the air gunners as well as the ethical airgun vendors.
Sorry guys how do you know if the updated regulator is any better? Just saying...
The new reg may well not be better -- as I suspect in many cases . However, when the manufacturers market new rifles as improvements over prior editions in order to boost sales, I expect the vendors to honor phone requests/orders for the hyped "ungraded" rifles.
I feel for vendors with inventory of early editions rifles that have depreciated in value. However, I do not wish to be the party who eats cost of this depreciation.
