Vector Optics Veyron Compact

I've heard complaints regarding 4-16 but 3-12 has good reviews. I've five 6-24s in SFP and FFP, IR and non-IR, can't be more impressed. Super-subcompact size and weight is perfect for airguns, crystal clear optics and smooth functioning round out the package. WM

I have the SFP 4-16 and find the clarity is quite good. I did an evaluation of this, an Optisan CP and a German GPO scopes with similar dimensional qualities. They are all good, but of course, the more expensive they are, the better the optical quality, but not by much. The controls (windage, elevation) on the Veyron are a bit stiff, but doable.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered the 6-24 FFP today.

Vector Veyrons include flip-up scope covers, honeycomb sun shade and a decent set of rings. Taipan Veteran and FXs mounted perfect with included rings but AGT (Uragan, Uragan 2 and Vulcan 3) all needed cantilever scope rings, as shown in photo, for proper eye relief. WestHunter and Marcool are two cantilever ring brands I've used. Only complaint is if eye piece is adjusted out a ways the flip-up scope cover doesn't grip well, a strip of electrical tape between scope and cap does help. WM

I recently ordered this scope. We shall see how good it is.

I used to think my SFP Veyron 6-24 was not as clear as my Athlon Talos 6-24 but I think it was just me not adjusting the parallax as well as possible. It has good glass for the money. I like the turrets that lock when you push them down. They adjust pretty well, not like my Arken but for small adjustments it works great. Large adjustments take a few shots to settle in. I'm debating buying another. I know of nothing else with its size and features and price.

Was my first VV, recommended by member. Very impressed but 12 power wasn't making it shooting dime-size circles @ 50 yards. Three AGTs, 2 FXs and a Taipan Veteran wear 6-24x44s, IR, non-IR, SFP and FFP. Six shade red center dot IR is outstanding, easily dialed down to avoid washout of sight picture. WM

I run my Hawke's at 4x or 6x so that is my baseline. Hard to beat a Hawke so we shall see.

I can always throw it on a PB. Got a new 7.62x39 BCA that it could fit on. 😀

Tried a bunch of mid-priced scopes, including Hawke, but super-subcompact, light weight Vector Veyrons with side-to-side crystal clarity, a same price point, was a gamechanger. I swear they transformed my airguns favorably in appearance and function. WM

Does anyone have experience with either the 4-16 or the 6-24 SFP scopes? I am interested in clarity and actual focus ability out to about 80 meters. Both of these scopes look to be a good size for my incoming Epic Two Lite 300mm.
Im very interested in the 4-16. The size, weight, and price is perfect.

I have the 2nd focal plane 6-24 Veyron. It is on my P35-22, one of my most accurate air rifles. I really like it because it works well at both extremes of it's magnification range. 24X is good for targets, 6X is good for pesting. I initially thought the clarity was not as good as my similarly prices Athlon Talos 6-24 but I think they are equivalent now. The parallax wheel is stiff on the Veyron and I just did not have it fully focused. With that fixed, it is as clear as the Talos to my eyes. I think my Arken EPL-4 6-24 is more clear than either of the others but it should be, it cost 1.5 times as much.

What I am saying is the Veyron 6-24 is as clear as other similarly priced scopes that have good glass. But it is not as clear as scopes which are significantly more expensive and also have good glass for their price point.

I've had/have them, except for the 6-24x.
10x great scope, not a single gripe, crisp, clear. I'd like to see a lighted version, and not just the dot.
3-12x is on my DT 25, it is also one fine scope, no regrets beyond the wish for a decent lighted reticle and not a dot.
4-16x is getting to the max for these scopes, a little fisheye on mine, but not terrible and certainly highly useable. It is clear from the center out pretty far and really on mine the fisheye is not a problem, but it's there. Really decent for not paying 3x the price.

I would imagine the 6-24x would be going beyond the capability of the scope lens spec, and would have significant lens problems, but I have never looked through one. I've have looked thorough two 4-16x and can confirm they were the same.

I’ve got both the 4-16 and 6-24. FFP with the illuminated center dot. For the price, no complaints. The dot doesn’t wash out the image in very low to no light like the fully illuminated reticle does…at least for me. Light weight is nice too. 4-16 top. 6-25 bottom. Vortex rings and flip caps. The stock caps are suboptimal.

I recently received a 4-16. I currently don’t have a gun for it but I temporarily mounted on a gun. I like everything about it except two things. I wish a throw lever was available for it. And I agree with @bchannell 100%. You can tell when you are getting close to 16x that you crossed over into what the optics are capable of. It’s not so bad that you have to avoid max magnification like some scopes, but it’s also not like like let’s say my Sightron S-Tac where there is no difference in clarity on max. But let’s consider price. The Veyron is worth its price. You get exactly what you paid for.
