Varmint Knockers 28, 30 and 31.5gr are good for FX slug liners

Test platform:

FX Impact MKII 22, 700mm slug liner. 10mph wind quartering from the rear.

100yd groups.

30gr

31.5gr

Both tested successfully in the field at 134yds.....they fly true at 944 fps (30gr) and 920fps (31.5gr).

Just tried the 33gr.....they didn't do as well for me. Super tight, nearly one hole at 25yds but opened up to 3" at 100. 

Uncharacteristic for slugs in my experience, especially when compared to the VK 28, 30 and 31.5gr.... calm winds today even when the others did sub-moa in 10mph wind.

That is some serious performance out of a .22 ! I smell another personal best long shot in the near future....

It's just amazing how these slugs buck the wind. I'm hooked and its going to be a bad spring time for pests and varmints!

Too bad! In my last batch I made moa @100 but I run out and I couldn't not measure fps or anything and it was with my X modified. More are coming next week probably. I haven't try the 31.5

What's the heaviest slug that fits the magazine?

I don't know. The 40gr that Ernest sent me for sure don't fit. But the 33gr fit with no problem.

I'm going to stick with the 30gr most likely. I have more 28 and 30 arriving tomorrow hopefully. I'll do a bunch of testing on the range and in the field and decide which I like the most.

To be fair, I used a more solid bag under the grip than I usually do. Normally I use my sandsockgear bag but today I used a bag with lead shot in it.

I would bet the heavier slugs would do just as well with the same bag as these did today.
