UTG Universal Dovetail to Picatinny/Weaver Rail Adaptor for Diana 36

I recently pulled my Diana model 36 out of storage (purchased in '87), and decided to equip it with a scope. Purchased a UTG 4-16x44 and UTG DN034 scope elevation compensation mount which comes recommended for this rifle.
Problem is, the point of impact is 12" above my point of aim with elevation maxed out. Granted, I'm shooting at 10yrds (all I have in basement). I will be taking it to the range, but for home use I'd like to be able to hit what I'm aiming for at 10yrds It seems the elevation compensation mount is unnecessary in my case so I'm looking for a straight mount.
I saw the UTG Universal Dovetail to Picatinny/Weaver adapter online and was wondering if anyone has experience with it on a Diana 34 or 36 rifle. 
Also, if anyone has other recommendations they'd like to share I'm all ears.

Get adjustable rings. Like the ones made by FX. That way you can elevate the rear of the scope. Before you do it reset the scope back to the center starting position. I have always been able to get the gun Shooting on target with just adjusting the FX mount. You can then use the scope adjustments for your fine tuning.
