Utah Airguns

You can decline that, but it does seem to default to it. You just have to look for how to unselect it. It's not for bubble wrap, I believe it's some sort of insurance. Many online seller are doing that these days. Noticed it first a couple years ago. Seeing it more recently. It's likely being offered from a third party and the actual seller you are buying from gets a cut of it. So basically an extra bit of free money for them. Just unselect it and then send the seller a note saying it annoyed you. They'll eventually get rid of it. I've seen that as well.

Once again, so very glad I have a local air gun store to buy from. All the convenience of buying on line can get costly and then if something is mucked up? Then another layer of dung to wade through.
I will buy on line if I have no other choice, but I really like having a store within 20 minutes of me so I give all the business I can to them trying to do my part to keep them solvent.

I am closing on retirement here in a year or two and working at a place like that might be a good way to keep busy and make some fun money.

I do want to make a point about UA. I have bought guns and goodies from them regularly and they have been nothing short of spectacular to deal with. Service, knowledge etc. I am hoping they aren’t turning to parlor tricks to up their margins. The service and knowledge are good enough to warrant slightly higher prices versus shenanigans.

just ran into this with PayPal too. I have had an account for 19 years, but have not used it since 2006. Took half a day just to unlock it again,
But the seller seemed to prefer this type of payment. No problem.
When I paid it asked if I wanted buyer protection, I said yes. Then they deducted it from the funds I sent to the seller. Why? I chose it, it is for me and my protection. Anyway the seller was not thrilled to be short 25.00 on an 850.00 gun. I did not realize they would deduct it from his money. So, I quickly
made up the difference. It's been a long time since I used PayPal, caught me unaware. Strange way handle it. I did not mind paying for the protection,
seems they should have just added to the total and charged me the extra.

This is a first for me.
Old car parts, airguns and or gun parts.

The only time I've had any "additional" shipping costs, is when I had some magnesium wheels shipped to me on a wood pallet. And that was agreed upon before the deal was completed.

And sorry "Spartan", you are incorrect,...it was not...listed as "insurance" as you note above, it was listed as..."packaging" just...as I wrote !

I have read several times that UA pellets are buy 4 and get a fifth one free. I cant find that actually written on their site. What am I missing?
I couldn't find it either, but a couple days ago I bought some stuff along with 5 tins of slugs. In the cart they charged for four and the fifth was free.

Here’s a screen grab from Utah’s website when I just now went through the order process. See top of pic. It’s shipping insurance from a third party. And note the little toggle where you can turn it off.
