For those that shoot into pellet traps and then eventually clean them out, ( for me it's been a couple of years), what do you do with it?
Do you keep it?
Do you throw it away?
Do you reuse it?
Do you sell it?
I've got several pounds in gallon zip lock bags
don't know why I keep it though..lol.

^ I give mine to a friend that casts his own boolits, so it ends up in a berm at the local range. Recycled lead generates twice the fun!

Put it on craigslist for free and someone will take it off your hands. Now that wheel-weights are made of zinc, people need it.

I melt mine down in a cast iron pan on a propane burner. Then I pour the purified lead into small ingots to be melted down later. Propane grill burner's and cast iron pans are cheap and easy pieces to acquire at the second hand stores.

No sir, it is not too soft. A little tin, a few wheel weights, makes great .357 boolits for my AEA Big 9!

I keep the lead and use it to cast round balls and minie balls for my muzzle loading firearms.

i kinda figured with all these benchrest people adding weights to their rigs, I'd pack a1" or 30mm tube with the disgarded lead and cap them...use some old scope rings to attach.

Pellet lead is very good for black powder round ball casting. So, expand your hobby into BP and melt it, or gift it to someone who does.

I just assumed it would be too soft. I have a BP
smoke pole.

post the used lead in the classifieds , just do not go heavier than the USPS ,anything go's boxes .
Maybe just for the postage ,which is what i would do . Doesn't cost you anything and the lead is used in our hobby .

I bought an ingot mold from Lee for a few dollars and melt down pellets from my pellet trap and make 1/2 lb and 1 lb ingots from them. I am not sure what I will do with the lead but I will find a use. I fish too so maybe I will buy a mold and make sinkers for fishing or jig heads from it. Or maybe I will get a big bore and cast slugs for it. I tried casting 25 caliber pellets and my guns do not like them, however. I have 10 lbs or so and more in the pellet trap but it doesn't take up a lot of space.

Up until now I've been melting down the old pellets for use in my fishing jig and sinker molds.

Been designing a slug press. I've made a mold to cast the "lead wire" to be used in swaging my own slugs.

I give it to the range officers at the gun range I frequent. I'm going to buy a hot pot that way I could cast small ingots to make transportation and storage easier.
