Used Beeman 0035 firing without pulling trigger

I bought a used Beeman 0035 .177 cal. at a Pawn Shop for $40.00 and thought I got a good deal. My Grandson and I decided to try it out but it misfired with the safety on and I did not even touch the trigger. I tried it several times and it would misfire without touching trigger. Can I get this repaired or did I just waste $40.00.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's the sear that causes the problem, either it's worn down or the trigger needs to be adjusted. Have you tried screwing in the adjustment screws on the trigger? If you turn them in all the way in, then one full revolution out and see if it's still causing unwanted discharge, it's the sear that's worn down. In that case, you need to work on the sear and you'll have to do some light filing to create a new sharp angle.

Watch the front screw and rear screw, work those.
