I bought one of these Daisy target practice rifles to shoot English sparrows off of bluebird house for my dad - because accurate and low power. I bought it from Civilian Marksmanship Program. It's old, all metal and wood, except the peep sight, which they replaced with a plastic one. I ask for the original metal one they took off but they said they throw them out because they are broken. I told them to give me a broken but they were all trashed. Anyway, the serial number of the rifle is in the double digits. I was wondering if anyone would know if it had extra value because of the low serial number ? It's my understanding the US Gov't bought over 25,000 of these guns over the years. Still accurate to the point it's boring to shoot.
