Urban Varmint Hunting

We have had a bit of an infestation of "Black" Roof Rats the past few months. A few evenings ago I started seeing one run the back of our fence. Every night, the same routine. He would run the length of the fence, then up and over the back like lightning, never returning that way the same evening. I spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on the rail he always uses and tonight he stopped just long enough!

This was about 25 yards from the cover of my downstairs office window, right at ground level. These things are fast! I had option on another but just as the crosshairs were settling on him, he got spooked and ran off and did not teturn the test of the night.

The Gamo Urban has been perfect for this clandestine varmint shooting. It is plenty powerful and also quiet enough not to draw any attention from the neighbors. It also has the accuracy to do the job.

Anyone out there with a similar experience?

I've been on the hunt with similar rats at my place https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/first-kill-one-shot-one-rat/ the last shot I took at one was with my Ataman AP16 compact, 5-7 yards, open sights, shot went just below him, which was frustrating because the majority of my test shots were 1/2 groups at that range, Got a scope on the way for the Ataman to assist.
