Uragan or Cricket 2 tactical 60 .30cal?

Hello everyone, I have decided to buy a new airgun and I am torn between these two. I have owned a Gen 1 Cricket before and I know their quality is excellent but I have seen that the Uragan gets recommended a lot over here. I'd like to shoot long distances which I believe means using slugs and both of them seem to do the job just fine. Could anybody out there who has handled both offer some insight?

Thanks in advance.

I would vote Cricket Tactical....I own 2 and this one just went from AoA to Derrick Wall to tune for me.

Shoots the 50 grain at 865 and is laser accurate, 44 grainers shoot VERY well also. Very quiet (with moderator) cocking is a breeze, mags can over rotate but are able to be tweeked to address that issue.

Loads of power on tap for slugs (my reg is at 130 and can go up from there) easy hammer spring adjustment, great reg and the trigger is very good....

I own an Uragan .30 as well and it is also a great gun but the Cricket in my opinion is just a couple notches above....

Derrick placed 6th I think it was at EBR this year with a .30 Cricket Tactical so that should tell you something about their long range accuracy...

You won't be disappointed either way!

The quick and dirty answer:

Both are very good and quality built.

.30 Uragan has a 1:15.7 twist non-choked CZ barrel. It shoots the 44.75s great at 915 fps or there about. That barrel lends itself very well to shooting slugs. It’s a better slug shooter than than the .30 Cricket.

.30 Cricket has a 1:29.9 twist non-choked LW barrel which is polygonal profiled. It shoots pellets very very good. It likes the 50.15gr or the 44.75s. The twist isn't the best for slugs.

I love them both. If I'm competing in a pellet competition, I'm grabbing the Cricket. If I'm grabbing a do all, it's gonna be the Uragan.

FWIW...Just a little side note on the Uragan .30. I pulled mine out a few evenings ago, filled it up to 225bar and loaded up some 44gr pellets and sat down at my 100yd bench. Now mind you, no warm up shots, no prep of any kind, I simply picked my target on 500AR steel at 100yds. 9 shot group was 1.5" but there were only 4 marks on the plate. 6 shots stacked on top of each other! The gun had not been fired since August. I'm keeping my Uragan! 😃 🙂
