Uragan King - Single Tank Conversion???

Hey there everyone,

I have done some searching and can’t find anything on this. I have been told you can simply take the double tank adapter off the King and put a single tank back on. What I can’t seem to find is a picture of what the gun looks like in that configuration as I am reading the larger shroud has to be removed.

Can you buy the normal shroud for the single tank uragan and just use that? I want the king for bench shooting as the shot count will make it much more fun for me, and the conversion to single barrel to go to the range or to carry it in the woods.

Has anyone done this? If you have a picture I would be very grateful... thanks.

I read on here somewhere that you take the two tanks off. Take the shroud off. Then put one of the tanks on. They said to use a moderator but I thought the adaptor screwed onto the shroud so I'm not sure how that works? I'll be following this because I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Did you see that the wood stock weighs almost 2 lbs less then the synthetic? That surprised me too. i'm going to call Charlie and I'll bet he could answer this stuff?

If you're going to do all of this (remove one bottle, buy another (non-king) shroud, etc), why not just buy the standard Uragan? Seems like a lot of work and expense to solve a problem that should exist?

I agree, if its a lot of work then I would likely just do that. My reasoning is that to have twice the air for bench work would be awesome, but its likely not something you would want to walk around with, so the option of single tank might be the solution. Same thing for people who buy multiple caliber barells to switch an Impact or Leshiy or Daystate. Its not really that much work and does give the advantage of diversity in what yoou can do with the gun.

Was just bouncing around in my head in my search for a new gun.

Yeah, I re-read your original post and figured out why you were looking to do it. Still, the King costs about $400-$500 more than the standard Uragan then you gotta buy more parts to make the conversion . . . seems like there are better places to spend your money (but then again, if most of us airgunners spent our money wisely, the Classifieds would be a ghost town). Also, I've had several Uragans go through my safe and I can't remember if the bottles have a valve or not. If there's no valve (like the bottles on the Leshiy 2), then you'd have to degas every time you want to remove it . . . which is a waste of so much air given the size of those bottles.

Maybe the best thing to do is just get the standard and tether it for bench work???

Good point on tethering for the bench... I have an email in to Charlie at GA Airguns, so we will see if its more parts you have to buy or what. If I decide to go 22 on a typical uragan than I imagine it gets more than enough shots to keep me happy, even on a bench. I just loved the idea of going to the range and doing bench shooting without any other tank in tow.

Thanks for being the one to talk sense into me... lol.
