I've got an Uragan 3 compact that I consider to be pretty noisy mechanically right by my ear. I guess they call it pinging. Very annoying, they are suppose to come with a depinger. I can't imagine how unpleasant it would be otherwise. Are there any suggestions to lessen this aside from wearing ear protection? I'm shooting 18.3 g pellets at about 880fps.

Small 2-3in. piece of a bottle brush or a piece of rubber tubing that is the same diameter as the cylinder. That's a poor man's fix. Hope you find an exceptable solution. Agnutty

IDK exactly what causes the pinging in the AGT guns, but even though they lengthened the barrel in the U3 Compact, your gun has to be set pretty hot to be getting 880 fps with 18.3's. Out of a compact!
My Vulcan 3's were like everyone else's and pinged a good deal. I thought that this was somehow related to the power they were putting out. On the other hand, my Gen 1 Uragan Standard (.22 cal) barely pinged at all, even though it was sending 25.39 gr pellets at right around 900 fps. Design changes as AGT 'modernized' their designs? Power levels?
If you don't need to shoot 18.13's out of your U3 Compact, maybe tune it down and instead shoot 15.89's at 880 fps and see if that doesn't quiet down the ping somewhat. One would think it would be quieter if you didn't have to smack that valve open so hard, or dump as much high pressure air into the barrel.

I considered it might have something to do with the power setting. It’s the way it came and I don’t know what others are getting so I haven’t touched it.

I have shot a Uragan 3 in 700mm at the club range. It didnt have the ping. Strange that you have it.

Both of my U2 compacts are annoying by my ear. I even insulated everything from the trigger back. Didn’t help much. But it’s better. But look on the bright side. A mechanical noise problem is better than a POI, failure or shoddy workmanship problem.

All of my bullpups have some loud valves/ping sound, the more they are turned up, the louder it is. I’ll wear a single ear plug if it bothers me.

I put a small rubber tube on my hammer spring and it helped the ping 80 %,, The rubber tube is a little under 1/2 the length of the tube.

Thanks Mike, my Prophet wears a piece of silicone tubing inside of the hammer spring, it does help a bit.
