Uragan 2 AVS slug testing.

Is the barrel the same on the uragan 2 and the vulcan 3? I was looking to order slugs but I haven't found any solid info on which ones work best with the uragan 2. I did see a video on the vulcan3 liking the avs slugs so figured I'd see if they are the same. Thanks for any replies. Also this is for the .30 600mm barrel

I'm turning this thread into avs slug testing grounds. If anyone wants to post their data for their uragan 2 and what works for them feel free. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

I have been shooting the 44 grain jsb. I have not tried slugs yet. I was hoping if the barrels were the same I could use the proven ammo from the v3 in the u2.
😅I'd say some slugs for personal test would be cheaper than a barrel 🤔
Life is too short; buy some slugs and send em downrange 🤗🤪🤙🤷‍♂️

🤔I'd say start with a well known brand and a not so well known brand(that's my approach) 2 tins investment.
For .30 slugs it seems "light" would be 40-70, "medium" 70-90, "heavy" 90-130gr for slug selection. Hope it helps give you some sort of starting point🤗🎩🤙

I appreciate the info. I will do that once I find out if the barrels are the same. The problem is the barrels on the vulcan shoot .306 well and the .300, .301, and .303 diameter doesn't shoot as well do to the barrel being slightly larger. I'll probably speak with avs and try to get a sample pack at .306 or I'll slug my barrel and go from there. Was just looking for anyone that already went down this road with the u2. I'm always into saving some time going down a pre proven path. I'll post my finding regardless. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got all my ammo in and did some testing today. I'm only posting the slugs that are the best in my setup. I placed another order for more slugs so about to do some more testing. I will be shooting 5 shot groups in the second test. I will start labeling the groups also so you know which is which. I will try to get back out in the next day or 2. Hopefully someone finds this helpful.

All the .3063 slugs I tested did well. My gun came shooting 50 grain jsb mid 900s so I purchased 50 & 52.5 grain dish and 55 & 62.5 grain flat base slugs from avs slugs. I am sticking with the 50 & 52.5 for now but wouldn't hesitate to run heavier slugs either. These are some groups at 134 yards. Slight breeze but in the woods it's mild.

i will post some more when i get back out to shoot. Hope this helps someone with getting the right ammo to begin with. Ill say anything dish base in 0.3063 will probably shoot well. The flat base didnt do bad either. The pellets didnt do as well in my test.
