I ordered a spare mag. for my Wildcat Mk1 .25 some weeks ago and it would bind and not index or even rotate, FX U.S.A. sent me a replacement, I assumed the ball was crimped in too deeply, well the second one was the same way! So, I got out my flashlight and dial calibers and set down to take a closer look at things, and didn't like what I found.... I'm a retired machinist and spent a lifetime working metal and fixin' stuff, and I didn't didn't need calibers to see the problem. The photo on the left is a Wildcat .22Mk1 and the right is the .25, note the center line of the hole in the cutout slot for the mag. hub, the .22 is centered much better than the .25, causing the mag to sit too high, the .25 actually has a wear groove in the top section where the mag. hub was rubbing. The new mags. seem to be made a little differently with a smaller ball than the originals. If I wouldn't have ordered a new mag I would never have known it...except my original mag. started to have indexing issues, I have around 6k pellets through this gun and the original mag and feed pawl have a small amount of wear on them, because the mag. is sitting too high this would make sense too. I sent these pictures to FX U,S.A, going to take a new block I guess, still under warranty, I can't say I never had an issue with one of my FX's now. I've shot some of the best groups ever with this gun, I hope it can be made right again!

It's a plastic mold production issue. Someone isn't checking specs often enough. These mags, I'm sure are made overseas or in PA, The USA's largest plastic manufacturer.

*lesigh* FX does a great job pioneering clever new technology, which we all appreciate, however I do genuinely wish they'd take a little more time to stabilize their designs before putting them out on the market. As annoying as it is for us, it must be an absolute nightmare internally dealing with all the different parts and specs for all the different revs. FX, as much as I love them, are definitely a company you DON'T want to buy the latest and greatest product from because the design is inevitably going to be tweaked. I give them credit though, when they see a problem (some of which you only learn about in production) they do go and make the changes, and quickly, as well as continuing to support old revs. It probably isn't lost on them what a nightmare that is to do.

These pictures are somewhat better, left is a .22 Wildcat Mk1 which is fine, the right is the .25 problem gun, note the location of the holes in the rear mag. hub slot, the hole on the right is too high, note the "wear" from the mag. hub rubbing on the top surface just above the hole. Both the replacement .25 mags. will "freewheel" fine in the .22, but lock up tight in the .25, FX U.S.A. said they tested the replacement .25 mag. in a Wildcat before they sent it, Mk1 and Mk2 mags. are the same, considering the wear on the slot and the fact that the replacement mag. was tested, problem must be in the block. I sent these pictures and I have good communication with FX, waiting to hear back from them.
