Upgrading my scope

Hi I have a discovery ffp 6-24x 50 I think it is on my raw hm 1000x 25 cal and am wanting to upgrade it to a better ffp scope I have a hawke airmax 30 sfp 6-24x50 on my 22 impact mk2 I really like that scope except the fact that it's second focal plain and point of aim changes with the power which is kind of important when you want to use the reticle for holdover looking in the $500.00 range for budget which really isnt enough to get great quality ffp scopes what is the opinions on the helix ffp 6-24x50 or mtc king cobra F1 6-24x50 haven't tried dialing but may want to start just need some options the discovery ffp parallax adjustment numbers aren't even close which is a down fall thank you for any help 
 
FWIW, I don't even use the numbers on the scope. I look through the scope and adjust the parallax until the view is as crisp as possible. Don't give a single fluff about what the numbers say. Go with the results.

More and more scopes I see have a bar graph, no number markings.

@airgunmann I get what you're saying. If you anticipate taking those close range shots maybe SFP is still a better bet. With a 3-12 I have, the MIL reticle is calibrated at 10X, so for close work I halve the holds at 5X. Easy mostly. If you need the magnification, a 4-16X calibrated at 12 or 16X is quarters and halves.

Well I'm thinking I may use my discover for a bit longer and up my budget to get a gen 2 athlon ares elr what are people's thoughts about the ares scopes are they worth the 1000 bucks plus cost of rings and where is the best place to buy from camera land I've delt with before and seem good options please how would ares compare to gen 1 vortex razor scope I've had but had to sell for money awhile back it was a 5-25x50 if I remember right

The Athlon Midas from CameraLand is fantastic for the price. I have an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 FFP MOA on my RAW HMx LRT .22 that focuses down to 10yds, glass is clear, turrets are crisp and MK Machining makes inexpensive scope wheels and throw levers from ebay or amazon. The Ares ETR is a step up and has better turrets and glass, the 3-18x50 focuses down to 10yds. And, Athlon has a great lifetime warranty on their products, no receipt needed, just fill out a form online then send it after a response with printed warranty info.

FWIW, The POI on my Hawke 4-16 x 44 mm compact SFP scope does NOT change with changing the power setting.

The OP never claimed his POI changed with the change in magnification. He did however mention not liking how his holds, his POA, subtended differently with change in magnification on his SFP scope.

"point of aim changes with the power". If you have to AIM at a different point when magnification is changed then by definition POI has changed when magnification is changed. Saying "holdover dots change" seems to be a different matter, and that is related to SFP function and not to Hawke specifically.
